When I bought Casper at the Pet Shop back in 2003 I was told she was male. Well actually Casper is the only bare eyed cockatoo I know, and I have owned her for the last 14 years. Some males have a dark brown iris and some females have a reddish-brown iris, but this small difference is not always reliable as a gender indicator.
